Ain't No Sunshine (Even When the Sun's Shinin')

It's been a crazy few weeks. Stressful. Worrisome. I'm surprised I have any hair left. I haven't posted in a bit because I've been in super stressed, hair pulling, what-am-I-going-to-do mode. Also known as 'Getting Shit Done'. While there have been some good things going on, it's mostly been bad.

My husband lost his job last month. He's been searching since the day after he lost it (we decided one "we're screwed day is enough then down to business), but has found nothing. Luckily, we had some money in savings, but it's quickly running out. I only work 1-2 days a week since I'm in school full time, but I started looking as well. I had an interview on the 9th but haven't heard anything. That could be a good sign since the people I interviewed with said it could take awhile if I'm hired b/c the HR people check EVERYTHING. I have my fingers crossed.

So, yeah that's been the main thing on my mind. I haven't even been reading (gasp!). Thanks for listening/reading. I'll update more as it comes.

UPDATE: Since writing this last night/early this morning, the hubby received a phone call & has an interview this afternoon. Woohoo!!

So, I've been trying to write more on my blog. I think I sort of went through a funk where I wasn't writing, I wasn't blogging, I was reading sporadically, and everything was all up in the air. I didn't think I'd ever get The Heritage finished no matter how much the characters plagued me. Everything was all sorts of crazy. For real.

...I'll let you finish that sentence. How's the weather been in your neck o' the woods? It's been miserably hot here and the humidity doesn't help much. The nights are almost as bad and I really wish I had mosquito netting and a spider trapper. Spiders tend to like my balcony for some reason.

Info and an Update?

I just wanted to leave a quick note to say hey (how YOU doin'?) and that I'm going to be reviewing books on my other blog Pages & Prose as well as my goodreads profile. Reviewing is fun and, before you ask, it's not getting in the way of my writing. It's cool to read/review books in my genre (and others). But, sometimes I worry what will happen if I absolutely despise a book and write about it. Will that hurt my chances of publishing? Should I use a different name to review books? What do you guys think?
